Today is the official launch of my new website specifically dedicated to my webcomic Madsusie. It has been a long time in the making, and I am very excited to see everything come together after all these years!

The comic will updated twice a week, every Tuesday and Thursday.

I've been busy lately, and the animal drawings and updates will be on hiatus for a few more weeks. I still have a growing list of animals that people would like me to draw, so if you have any to add drop a comment and i'll get back to them soon.

Cartoon pottery painting!

My friends and I caught the pottery painting bug, and now I have a brand spanking new cookie jar with Spongebob! That screenshot with him and Patrick kills me every time, so I couldn't resist painting it.

The plate with a piratey Mandy from Billy and Mandy unfortunately was dropped during a move, but at least I still have a picture.

I've been so busy the last few weeks that I haven't had a chance to do much drawing, and the drawings that I have done are definitely not my best (why can't a draw feet and hands all of a sudden..GAH!!!!).

I would love to draw a fight sequence for a comic, so i've been playing with proportions and poses with Super Fat Rat to get a feel for it. When I get the chance, I'm going to sit down with my sketchbook and watch some kung fu flicks.

Comic Returning from Hiatus

I can't believe its been over a year since I last updated my one shot comic, but the good news is that its back from hiatus!

Unfortunately the story fell into my pile of forgotten personal projects, but I plan on finishing it and creating a series of comics with the Madsusie characters, and get a website going so it can be better displayed.

I'm still debating whether I should keep up with pen and markers after this, or go digital. We'll see.

I've been so swamped with work lately that I haven't had a chance to draw very much in the last few weeks, so needless to say I haven't had a chance to work on my comic either. So here's a sneak peak of one of the characters......Gabe came up with the idea for creating an older brother for Salty Bob, who plays a crucial part in the story.

My first demo reel! These are some of my favorite clips from the last year or so from working at Collideascope, including one of Ron's animation tests I did in my second year of college. Some of the scenes from Speed Racer are unaired (but they don't reveal anything relating to the plot) and other haven't been cleaned up yet since I mostly did rough animation.

It seems like some jerk has stolen a piece of artwork of mine from Deviantart, and is selling it on Ebay as a mousepad. I never thought that I would have to watermark my pictures, but I see that my signature is not enough (as it can easily be cropped as you can see). Someone at work also suggested I only upload low rez pictures, which is probably what I will do from now on.

UPDATE - I checked this afternoon and luckily the listing has been taken down, thank goodness.

Well, a year has flown by already.

I've been working for most the of last year or so, mostly animating, with a few odd jobs between contracts.

I haven't really done too much drawing in my free time (gasp...its been a year!), except for a few sketches here and there. I was able to find this picture from a few years ago that I thought I would post, just a simple cleaned up sketch of one of my characters running. Yeah....I need to get drawing again.

DONE! I forgot to draw Holly(top right) so I finished her picture yesterday. What I found interesting about this project is that in just a little over 2 weeks, my drawing has gotten a little better. Peter(top left) was one of the first pictures I started on, and Holly's picture was the last. You can definitely see the difference.

This is a parody dance of Holly Dolly's version of Leva's polka. The rig kept on blowing up or inverting on itself whenever I tried extreme movements, so I really couldn't do too much with him.

This animation is horrible, so the only reason why I uploaded this video is to hopefully provide some laughs.

(UPDATE: I don't know how I got 2000+ hits on this, no clue at all. Also, my mom thought the video was so cool that she tried imitating the dance. It was the most horrifying experience of my life.)

This was an animation I made for Experimental class last year. I was trying to go for the look that Katie and Orby had, except a little darker, and I used Photoshop and Imageready to get the blend frame by frame effect. Theres not a lot of animation in it, but it turned out well considering it was photoshop.
